Iron Horse Mountain Bikes

The Iron Horse bicycle company has been around since 1987 and is based in Islandia, New York. Many people are familiar with Iron Horse mountain bikes due to their exposure through several mail order catalogs like Nashbar. Iron Horse has a full lineup of mountain bikes but is best know for their bikes in the Freeride / Downhill category.

The Sunday series of bikes are Iron Horse's popular downhill bikes ridden by riders on the Iron Horse Pro Team like Sam Hill. The Sunday mountain bike line is broken down into two models that are freeride focused and two models that are competition oriented. The Sunday World Cup is the top of the line, team replica, pro downhill race bike. The Sunday Elite and the Sunday Expert are the freeride versions. The Sunday Elite and Expert now feature a single crown fork that's must for riders who spend some time in parks or rippin' down switchbacks.

On the other end of the spectrum is the Iron Horse Azure which is a Marathon / XC bike. The Azure bikes feature 90mm of travel in the rear, 100 mm forks and an Easton EA62 tubeset. The Azure series mountain bikes are stiff and responsive but compliant enough not to beat you up on the trail.
