Redline Mountain Bikes
Redline is a US bike maker with a full lineup of mountain bikes, road bikes, bmx bikes and cruisers. Redline is probably most known if the BMX world and is sponser of several racing teams.
Several Redline mountain bikes have become in the past few years because of their price and wide availability in local and mail order bike shops. One of those mountain bikes is the Monocog 29er. The Monocog 29er is, as it's name implies, a single speed mountain bike with 29" wheels. It comes with a durable CROMO frame, linear pull brakes (it is set up for disc brakes if you choose o upgrade), 32 x 16 gearing and strong Alex DH19 wheels. Many road cyclist have taken to 29ers like this in recent years. Part of the appeal is that riding a bike like this at relatively low speeds and high cadence in the winter months can be great training. It also give a roadie the chance to improve balance and handling skills they may not get on a road bike.

Coming in at the upper end of the Redline 29er line is the D460 29er. The D460 rides on a smooth, double butted chromoly frame. When you're rolling fast down the trail atop 29" wheels you won't have to worry about braking power thanks to the Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes. Rounding out the package is the reliable and quick shifting SRAM X.7 shifters and rear derailleur. The Redline D460 29er will run you right around a grand in most shops. Compared to other rides in the category, this smooth rolling 29er is a steal.
