Titus Cycles is a company known for their beautiful custom titanium frames. They've expanded out from ti in the past few years to include carbon and aluminum into their frame building repertoire as well. Like most other semi-custom builder, you get a sense of hand-built craftsman ship with every frame, but at a price that wont absolutely break the bank. For a relatively small bike company, Titus Cycles has a wide range of mountain bike options that includes a full lineup of cross country, trail and all-mountain bikes.
In the full-suspension XC category, Titus has a variety of options from the Monocoque carbon frame of the Racer X to the 6061 hydroformed aluminum RX. The Racer X is full-on, super efficient, super responsive, climb like a mountain goat XC race bike. The frame uses a combination of high and medium modulus fibers that allow the ride to be tuned to specific needs. The Racer X comes in three sizes and features a custom tuned Fox RP23 rear shock with 100mm of travel. If you're a competitive XC racer, it would be worth your while to check out the Titus Racer X.
