Trek Mountain Bikes
Trek is a major US bike manufacturer that boasts a full lineup of hardtail and full suspension mountain bikes. For the past few years Trek has lagged behind other major mountain bike makers in terms of technology and innovation. Many suspect that this was due to the company pouring resources into it's road bike line which was riding a wave of success behind Lance Armstrong. With Lance in retirement, Trek has put renewed energy into there mountain bike R&D efforts. The results can be seen in excellent full-suspension bikes the the Fuel EX series.
The Fuel EX full suspension trail bike with 5" of front and rear travel and a wide range of models from $1,300 - $6,100 has proved to be a reliable performer and Trek's most popular mountain bike. The top of the line Fuel EX 9.5 features a OCLV full carbon frame and a Magnesium EVO link. Add in some premium parts like the Fox Float RP23 rear suspension, the Fox Talas RLC front fork and house brand Bontrager Race X Lite wheels and you've got a light, agile and efficient trail bike that can hold it's own versus bikes from almost every other manufacturer.

Featured Trek Mountain Bike Video
In this video, John Riley, the Trek product manager, talks about the 2008 Trek Fuel EX and R1i Suspension Technology. Great production quality on this video and some interesting info on Trek mountain bike technology. I also like the footage of that guy crashing, looks like it hurt.
Featured Trek Mountain Bike: Trek 69er
The Trek 69er series of mountain bikes, which comes with a single speed or 3x9 drivetrain, is perhaps the most unique pair of bikes produced by a major manufacturer in recent years. Trek gives the 69er a 29" big wheel in the front and a standard 26" wheel in the back. The idea is to build a bike with the speed, acceleration and tight handling of a 26" bike and the 29er's ability to roll smoothly over obstacles like roots and rocks. So far this odd looking beast from Trek is getting positive reviews. Although many riders were initial skeptical, the Trek 69ers seem to be winning people over with it's best-of-both-worlds appeal.
