Voodoo Mountain Bikes

VooDoo Cycles is a small US semi-custom bike maker started by former mountain bike racer and Kona founder Joe Murray. VooDoo has a small line-up of mountain bikes but builds them from a variety of materials. VooDoo offers hardtails, full suspension bikes and 29ers built from aluminum, steel, titanium and scandium. It's an interesting business model that makes for a diverse range of ride qualities.

In the full-suspension 29er category, VooDoo builds a bike they call the Canzo 29er. The Canzo 29er is a big wheeled trail bike that uses a solid and durable 4-bar-linkage suspension system with 4" of travel in front and back. The frame is 7005 series aluminum which makes for relatively light and predictable steering and quick acceleration. The Canzo comes with custom valved Rock Shox Monarch rear shock and a LX component group. The Canzo 29er is a solid, reasonably priced full-suspension trail bike that makes use of the 29er platform to roll fast over roots, rocks or other trail debris.

The VooDoo D-Jab makes use of VooDoo's Black Magic Titanium to build a smooth riding XC trial bike well suited for endurance riding and racing. One feature that is rarely seen on titanium bikes is a sliding rear dropout. This makes the for a versatile bike that can be built up as a single speed or geared bike. The D-Jab is a great deal. The entire bike is priced less than you would pay for a top-end ti frame from a lot of bike makers. The D-Jab is not a pure XC race bike because it comes with a longer travel 140mm fork.
