Yeti Cycles has been around in some form or another since 1985. They started out in Southern California, relocated to Durango, Colorado and then like many small, semi-custom bike builders were forced to move manufacturing to Taiwan. Today Yeti Cycles offers a complete line of mountain bikes including pure XC racers, downhill bikes, freeride bikes and dirt-jumping / urban assault bikes.
The Yeti ASR Carbon is a top of the line XC trail bike that won Bicycling Magazine's 2008 editor's choice award for best performance XC bike. This beautiful, sleek black frame is constructed from hand-laid high modulus carbon fiber. The frame is stiff, efficient and perfectly tuned to go fast on the trail. Taking a cue from road racing bike, the ASR Carbon uses an integrated seat mast which the company claims increases power transfer to the pedals. The seat mast makes for beautiful clean lines, but you better be sure you know your perfect seat-height because once this baby is cut, there's no going back. Other features of the Yeti ASR Carbon frame are Enduro Max sealed bearings, 160mm rotor and a press fit style bottom bracket.
